Taking a roots base, and defining it via an intensely bombarding mix of dance, drum n bass, ska and breakbeats, this Darwin group put an energy into their music that only a live performance can do justice. Mark Hoffmann, originally from Adelaide, leads the way on his four-way didgeridoo, conjuring a deep sound that lies at the heart of each track. Having honed his craft over the past 19 years in the Northern Territory, he manages to bring an urban feel to the instrument. Lukas Bendel is as intense as they get on the drums, keeping up with Hoffmann's pace, and creating a crazy live beat that is far too rapid for the crowd's feet to keep up with. When soulful songstress Shayote Carter comes out with her smooth vocals, she creates an entirely new atmosphere to the music, defining it well with lyrics covering as diverse topics as the apology to the stolen generation, all the way through to lager." ................................................................................................................
